The third floor is taking shape.

Progress is clearly visible at our construction site: Work has now begun on erecting the timber-frame walls on the roof. This is bringing the first outlines of the new third floor into view—another important milestone in the expansion of our hotel.

Why do we rely on wood-frame walls?

Wood-frame construction is particularly well-suited for adding stories to an existing building. Compared to solid concrete or brick walls, wood-frame walls are significantly lighter. This places less stress on the existing building structure without compromising stability or safety.

Another advantage is the speed and precision of construction. Many components can be prepared in advance and then assembled directly on the construction site. As a result, the new floor rises step by step in a relatively short amount of time.

Wood-frame construction also excels in terms of energy efficiency. The multi-layered wall structure allows for the integration of high-quality thermal insulation. This ensures a comfortable indoor climate and minimizes energy consumption. At the same time, wood is a renewable resource, thereby supporting sustainable and resource-efficient construction.

With every new wall that goes up, it’s becoming clearer what the future third floor will look like. We’re pleased that the work is proceeding on schedule, and we’ll continue to keep you updated on the latest construction progress in our construction diary.

The next steps in our renovation are already clearly visible: Scaffolding has been erected around the hotel, and work has begun on the existing parts of the building as well as on the expansion area. Our project for 2026/2027 is thus taking shape step by step.

With this renovation, we aim to make the Hotel Seven larger, more modern, and even more attractive. In doing so, we place great importance on preserving the unique character of our hotel while creating new opportunities for our guests.

Even during the construction phase, we remain fully committed to our guests. Together with our partners, we take care to coordinate the work as effectively as possible and minimize any potential disruptions.
